Jacob Gowans is a full-time dentist living and working in Omaha, Nebraska. He is husband to a beautiful wife, and father to five cute children. He shuns all pets. When not working or writing, he enjoys watching sports, reading, acting, listening to a variety of music, kissing his wife, buying Funko pops and board games, or chasing his kids around the house.

Psion Beta was his first novel, followed by Psion Gamma, Psion Delta, Psion Alpha, and ending with Psion Omega. He is also the author of the Tale of Light and Shadow series. His favorite novel is Alexandre Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo, and thinks the greatest film ever made is Warrior. He reads a variety of novels and comics.

He was raised in Papillion, Nebraska, graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in theater studies, and moved to Cleveland shortly thereafter. In 2011, he graduated from dental school at Case Western Reserve University.

He dreams of going to another country, seeing the Yankees play in every baseball stadium in America, and getting involved in stories for film and television. He would love to explore comic book and screenplay writing.
